PENNESHAW

The Lookout is located 10kms from Penneshaw which is an historic coastal village and the Island's Ferry Terminal. Basic goods and services (groceries, petrol, car hire, hotel etc) are available in Penneshaw.

The town also has a comprehensive Tourist Information centre, an excellent restaurant and a delightful local museum. The town is the site of an extensive penguin rookery. Penguin Tours operate in the evenings throughout the year. A large Wallaby colony lives close to the town and is easily visited.

ANTECHAMBER BAY & CHAPMAN RIVER
Antechamber Bay Beach

The Lookout is 10 kms from Antechamber Bay and Chapman River.

This area has great natural beauty and the extensive sandy beach offers safe swimming. The River is great for fishing and many different bird species can be discovered in its vicinity.

CAPE WILLOUGHBY

About 10km further east of Antechamber Bay is the eastern extremity of the Island, Cape Willoughby.

South Australia's first lighthouse was built here and daily tours of this historic structure are conducted. Adjacent to the lighthouse is the Cape Willoughby Café which offers great food and spectacular views.

WILDLIFE AND SCENERY
Echidna

Kangaroo Island has 21 National and Conservation Parks and so there are large areas of pristine wilderness which provide unspoilt habitats for many species of wildlife.

The main attractions are Seal Bay, Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks however there is much more to see on this unique Island. Besides the scenic beauty and fascinating wildlife, Kangaroo Island offers its visitors the opportunity to indulge in some of its rich produce including local cheeses, wines, seafood, marron and honey.
